how to eat and how not to eat ragi balls

They were half the normal size, about 5 cm in diameter, brown in color and little warm, presented with a green leaf sabzi and kosambiri (salad mix of boiled moong dal etc.,). The plate was steel and I took a squeeze out of the ragi balls and ate. It was not sweet nor sour and probably tasteless and I quickly took some sabzi to borrow taste but it was also not exactly pleasing.
The host understood my embarrassment and quickly prepared a plate and made small elliptical pieces out of ragi balls, dipped in sambar, brought his tongue out and gulped in single action. He continued this for a while.
I thought it was a simple application of principle, took my tongue out, put the piece in end and tried to gulp, failing which I tried to push it inside with two fingers but to no avail. I also grew scared that I would throw up if I continued in the same spirit. Finally I gave up and waited for end of the day for some kachories and samosas.
The entire genuine effort was captured in video and a friend of mine prepared a nasty video out of it and you would release tears of laughter after watching the video. One said she has not laughed so much for last few years as she did now and other said she would always watch it during her bout of depressions.

more ragi info.
